Sonnets

Life

As I sit to wait for my Love
I feel anxious and incomplete
The voice inside says to be still and have a seat
As I wait for the release of the white dove

Now He sits to soon claim his joy
Wondering what kind of change would soon be got
As the lady in white brings him to meet his boy
He has finally found what he has long sought

As the boy will soon grow to be a man
Life’s challenges will change to be trite
Through the treacherous mountains he will soon find sand
All he can do is preserve his might

The past has now begun to appear
With the end rapidly drawing near

The Peace of Cold

Its time to go out to see
I turn on the light
Let’s go and sense how still it will be
I love to make the dark bright

The silence is still
This is my favorite thing to do
The cold always gives a chill
See the snow fall it so white and new

There is no disturbance on the ground
My breath fades in the air
Not a track or footprint can be found
I never even grab a coat to wear

The sense of great peace is all around
I love to run outside to see the snow softly hit the ground

Summer

The sand was not beneath my feet
The day was short the night was near
When the air blew the smell was sweet
As I looked upon the water I seen the pier

The spray of ocean was cool on my face
The air was misty yet I could see clear
It was always pleasant to be in this place
I love the season when I am here

You can almost taste the food that is prepared
The people change they come from far and near
Step right up step right up don’t be scared
Just play a game or two have no fear

Another vacation will come and go
Will it be the same next year we don’t know?

Words to Think on :)

So I'm not sure where to begin. I can say definitely say one thing this semester flew by. I cant believe that I am down to the last couple of weeks. This in my opinion is the most stressful time of the whole year, with Thanksgiving and Christmas both back to back as well as doing papers, reviewing and quite possibly relearning all the stuff that was taught at the beginning of the semester. Well I have made it this far I'm sure I can go the next four years. Even though it seems like school drags on and on and on. It really does not. I'm sure the semesters to come until go by as fast as the previous ones along with the years. That is why we should appreciate the here and now, even though it may be a struggle for a day or a week or the whole month. Never wish your life away it goes by fast as it is. Learn to live, live to learn, love to laugh, learn to laugh (when needed), especially right now!!! Don't stress about your families coming to town or worry how you will avoid them when you see them at your family reunion, how about you take a different approach to your family. Why do we have families? They are there to support you, love you, and teach you things that are better learned now than later. I'll bet some people think "Well you don't have a family like mine, if you met then you would understand" but you know in truth maybe its you and how you express yourself on the outside maybe they are reacting to you? And if they are not reacting to you, well you cant change a person, so just learn to love them the way they are. Well Merry Christmas (I know you will make it through)!

Proposition 201

Proposition 201

Buying a house that includes a ten year warranty has a very enticing ring to it. But what is really lying beneath those favorable words, that everyone wants to believe in? These words seem to portray a sudden solution for the millions of new and used homes that almost indefinitely need to have some real tweaking and sometimes far more than that. In order to cast an educated vote one must always know the pros and cons. Always look at the facts by presenting credible evidence, really read what the proposition states and comprehend it, then organize gathered information that you have collected by talking to others and using other available resources.
A summary of proposition 201 simply says that new homes would have a ten year warranty; a homeowner would have the right to demand that any faulty work be corrected through out the ten year warranty. The new homeowner is allowed to list possible contractors to do repairs, if there is no agreement between the builder and the buyer the buyer is allowed to sue. Model homes must represent what is being sold, can not be misleading. The buyer has the right to cancel closing with in 100 days and still receive a majority of their deposits back. This measure will prohibit the home seller from participating in false mortgage applications, along with the fact that the builders' attorney will have no liability. The expert fees are paid by the homeowner as a result the homeowner has just lost a chunk of money. Homeowners can sometimes recover compensatory and consequential damages, but unlikely.
Authors Elizabeth Razzi and Katie Young want Americans to open their eyes and see that we do need to do something about older home warranties. They write a story about a woman who had purchased a home in Hawaii and then two months later had water problems, so she decided to call her homeowners insurance and to her surprise found out they did not cover a bill that was over 900 dollars in repairs to her home (Razzi and Young 2). If this was me I would be very upset, that is not a small sum of money so paying out of pocket would be difficult, especially for Americans with monthly bills and a family to support. In the view of the many homeowners and contractors they find that the biggest drawback is not being able to hire a contractor that they have had good experiences with (New Home Warranty Program 1). If a person is already comfortable with the way a private contractors does repairs then why not have him perform the fix up (New Home Warranty Program). After our most recent housing boom in 2007 many Americans found themselves strapped to an unreasonable monthly mortgage payment, unable to believe that they pay a nice sum of money for the crap hole of a house they live in. Take Susan Sabin for example, a woman that lives in Kansas who has LEMON lights strung in her widow (Max 1). She says these lights are not out of place in her new home that was purchased in 2007, they merely just add to it (Max 1). Susan had a problem with just about everything, cracked walls, bent pipes, and jammed up doors (Max 1). In the moment of the housing boom many builders were trying to get their homes up the fastest to move on to the next lot, resulting in more defects for the homebuyer and repair expenses on the builders part (Max 2). If a ten year warranty goes into effect then contractors would have to hire laborers that complete their job requirements with the utmost quality (Max 12-13). This would force many contractors to make sure their homes are of good quality or they will be paying for the repairs (Max 17-20). Although a few people may view warranties as a way to get people to buy homes, sellers claim that warranties are just there to ease the minds of buyers (Lucco 4). Since we all know that there is a potential for numerous things to go wrong after the new homeowner signs (Lucco 4).
Proposition 201 will affect our lives thoroughly, if passed in to law. For a majority of the middle aged Americans across the nation and beyond this is probably the single biggest investment that the mainstream of Americans will make during their lifetime (Ballot Propositions 74). Proposition 201 may affect our future so we must consider the logical sides of our proposition. Listed below are a few arguments against the proposed law. Many people are arguing that this will increase litigation, and typically litigation is not a good thing (Max 3). Many of us know that going to court is "expensive and messy" (Max 3). A good number people contact their builder when they do have a problem with their new house anyway, there does not have to be any court meetings to work out the dilemma (Lofton 1). Since many states now have the right-to-repair law contractors are not getting sued as much and a new law that says you can sue your contractor is not what we need (Lofton 7-8). Someone has to pay for the cost of going to court, the judge has to be paid, and reimburse the people that attended your trail (Max 3). Will increase costs for the buyers; nothing is ever free there is always a cost to be covered ( Caplin 5). The homeowners that want a ten year warranty must realize that they will be paying for that warranty somehow some way weather it be in your monthly mortgage payment (Caplin 5) The homebuilder would have to buy the very preeminent of materials, this would also cause increase in the cost (More Letters 1). Contractors having the pressure to produce superior quality houses would push their employees, and the result would be stressed and over worked laborers, keep in mind that this would also raise the total cost of a house, due to over time ( More Letters 1). A chairman of Arizonan’s against lawsuit abuse also stated that this proposal would prohibit adults from coming to an agreement with each other; this new process would interfere with the communication of the responsible parties buying and selling the home (Ballot Proposition 72). In addition to going to court what if you did not win your case? What then how would you get reimbursed for all the time you took off work and the many hours you spent putting together the list of items that need to be fixed. Would you try another lawyer and keep going to court until you won (Ballot Proposition 74)? What if you spent fives years tying to get a repair done that was covered in the warranty and kept losing in court (Ballot Proposition 74)? What then do you just give up? Really how much will this proposal help us? This to me sounds like a huge waste of time and energy that could be used to help your children with homework, or go on a date that is overdue. After all once you read the fine print it seems like warranties cover the most inexpensive items, being sure that the foundation and roofing of your home excluded (Caplin 5).
In my opinion the value that is at stake in Proposition 201 is congruency. We must have the ability to come to a state of agreement. That’s how many our marriages work, along with business deals, and promises. If we just plain gave up on communicating and went straight for the blood and guts, then our lives would seem like a battle everyday and we all know that none of us need more battles to fight. So why not communicate in a setting where emotions are not rooted up and money is not all that matters. Problems should be brought up in a meeting where the buyer feels comfortable, and welcomed.
On November fourth the fate of our nation is going to be in the hands of another President that we the American people will choose. Many of us will vote according to our beliefs, our values and what is seemingly right for our country. But before we go out a check a box on that ballot it’s important to have dexterity and some insight on what the proposers are trying pass. Many politicians want to "pull the wool over your eyes" so to speak, in great hope that YOU do not find what really lies beneath all the mumbo jumbo that they have been preaching religiously for weeks on end. So now I’m taking a stand I've read through Proposition 201 and some claims in it seem to good to be true. Really a ten year warranty on our homes? Wow when did contactors get so generous with their time and money? In a decision making moment you have to decide if the good outweighs the bad or visa versa. In accordance to my values and beliefs I think that this ballot measure was a waste of print space.

Politics

So I have to make a comment about the debates ha have been going on. Out of the three debates (two presidential and one vice presidential) the last presidential debate express the emotion, when Senator Obama wanted to interrupt Senator McCain when he was talking smack. In reality twisting the truth was all McCain did during the Tuesday night debate. Anaylists say that seems to be the only way he may win the election. Right now on the polls McCain is a few percents behind Obama. To be honest I dont think that either of these two people are fit to run our country. McCain seems to be to old and may have some revenge pend up, mostly because of war. Obama he is quite a young fella, I dont dobut in a few years that he could do it with out a problem. The side of Obama that worries me most is that may not have enough experience over seas. I think that he could handle domestic affairs but Im not to confident about foregin affairs and policies. On November 4th we will get a new president weather it be good or bad, it is going to happen.
